dürnstein, morning hike

Today we spent the morning in Dürnstein, where King Richard the Lion-Heart of England was held captive by Duke Leopold V. I climbed to the top of the old fortress to have a great lookout.

  1. Hi Heather --

Looks like the hills really are alive! Not even a jacket!!!!! Did you enjoy Salzburg?

Interesting to see the town where they incarcerated Richard ! -- I always hear about it but didn't realize that it was still around.

Have a good day tomorrow -- since I think it is evening where you are! We are back in rainy (yuck) Seattle!

    xx Mom

  2. Hi mom. I think this was my favorite town on the trip. It is very tiny but has a lovely relais hotel and is right in the middle of the wine country. It was really charming. Rain has settled in now, but we had arch a great run if weather that I can't really complain at all. Off to Munich tomorrow, and then on to Dubrovnik from there. xxh
